Pastor's Newsletter MAY 2017

Dear Church Family,

With gratitude I write this month for the opportunity to serve the Lord as your pastor.  We have a few things to list and share together:

1.  Our Easter services totaled over 80 and more than 40 for our breakfast.  I hope you were blessed by the fellowship and enjoyed meeting new people as well.  As usual we were thankful to welcome some visitors and send them on their way with some Rock Port hospitality.

2.  Our Annie Armstrong Easter offering came to over $700 which easily surmounted our church goal of $400.  Most of all we listened to the testimonies of those serving in various parts of North America and we offered our prayers in support of their work.

3. Our children’s skit April 9 “Palm Sunday Live” was a smashing success.  We will always remember “Cory Clueless” and “Danielle Doorknob” who met Jesus for the first time in Jerusalem that day.  The real lesson was to find those kind of skeptics in our circle of friends, keep loving them, and share Jesus with them.

4. Messages from Hebrews have continued this past month and so far we have studied a lot about Jesus, which is how God speaks to us in these last days (Heb. 1:1).  Here is a list of message topics:

Jesus:  The Son of God (Hebrews 1)

Jesus:  Brings Complete Salvation (Hebrews 2)

Jesus:  The Faithful Builder (Hebrews 3)

Jesus:  The Great High Priest, part 1 (Hebrews 4)

Jesus:  The Obedient Savior (Hebrews 5)

Jesus:  The Anchor for My Soul (Hebrews 6)

Jesus:  He Lives Forever (Hebrews 7)

Jesus:  The Great High Priest, part 2 (Hebrews 8)

Jesus:  The Power of His Blood (Hebrews 9)

5.  Finally, I want to give thanks for the prayer ministry of our church.   As we meet   each week we always take time to share needs, and we do pray together, even though I am the one leading and speaking in prayer. Out of this team effort comes blessing as seen in God’s provision for our personal needs.

“Since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess”  (Hebrews 4:14)

With you in the Lord’s service,

Richard Boettner, pastor
