Principles for Building the Lord’s Church

Colossians 2:1-4

1.   The work will be hard and take much effort (vs.1)

2.   There are some different types of people: (vs.1)

1.  the inner circle of regular believers
2.  the believers nearby us
3.  the ones we don’t know who we are yet to meet

3.    Goals for people we minister to: (vs. 2)

1.  an encouraged heart
2.  a loving unity
3.  a complete understanding

4.  Above all else we will lift up Jesus Christ  (vs. 2,3)

5.  To gain wisdom and knowledge some things wiill seem “hidden” at least for a time (vs. 3)

6.  We must watch out for deceit and arguments (vs. 4)
